For your comfort and the effectiveness of your treatment, we recommend arriving freshly showered and avoiding strong perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented products, as they can be overwhelming in the treatment space. For Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), it is best to fully undress so that clothing and elastic bands do not restrict lymph flow. You will always be properly draped for privacy and comfort. If you prefer to keep undergarments on, we can adjust the treatment as needed. For reflexology or other focused sessions, loose and comfortable clothing is perfectly fine.
We specialize in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), along with therapeutic massage for TMJ and jaw pain, headaches, abdominal health, and reflexology. Each session is customized to your needs, and you can explore our full menu for detailed options and session lengths.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialized massage technique that encourages the natural movement of lymph fluid in the body. The lymphatic system plays a key role in removing waste, reducing swelling, and supporting immune health. By using light, rhythmic strokes, MLD helps reduce fluid retention, ease discomfort from swelling or inflammation, and promote relaxation. It is especially beneficial after surgery, for lymphedema or lipedema, and for overall detox and wellness support.
Lymphatic drainage may be a good choice if you experience swelling, fluid retention, or a feeling of heaviness in your body. It is especially helpful for people managing lymphedema, lipedema, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, or post-surgical recovery. Many also benefit from it for reducing inflammation, supporting immune health, or simply restoring a sense of balance and energy. Because it is a light, non-invasive therapy, most clients find it both safe and deeply relaxing. If you’re unsure, we can review your health goals together and determine if lymphatic drainage is a good fit for you.
While both techniques involve hands-on care, they serve very different purposes. A regular massage typically uses firm pressure to release muscle tension, improve flexibility, and ease stress. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), on the other hand, uses very light, rhythmic movements designed to stimulate the lymphatic system. Instead of working deep into the muscles, MLD gently moves lymph fluid to reduce swelling, support immune function, and relieve conditions such as lymphedema, lipedema, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders, or post-surgical inflammation. Many clients find it deeply relaxing and restorative in a way that complements traditional massage.
Yes. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is highly recommended after many types of surgery, including cosmetic, orthopedic, or cancer-related procedures. This gentle technique helps reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort by encouraging lymphatic flow and supporting the body’s natural healing process. MLD can also lower the risk of scar tissue buildup and speed recovery time. Many clients also benefit from it for managing lymphedema, lipedema, or general fluid retention. Sessions are customized to your needs and always provided with care and comfort in mind.
Yes, many clients with medical conditions benefit from lymphatic drainage and therapeutic massage. These treatments can support those managing lymphedema, lipedema, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, or post-surgical recovery. However, certain conditions—such as active infections, untreated blood clots, unmanaged heart or kidney disease, or active cancer treatment—may require medical clearance first. For your safety, I may ask for a referral or approval from your physician before beginning care. Together, we can determine the safest and most effective approach for your needs.
While Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is safe and gentle for most people, there are certain conditions where it should be avoided or only performed with a doctor’s approval. MLD is not recommended if you have:
If you are pregnant, post-surgical, or have a complex medical condition, MLD may still be safe and beneficial with proper clearance. I always review your health history and may request approval from your physician to ensure your treatment is safe and effective.
For most new clients, a 45–60 minute session is the best place to start. This gives enough time to introduce lymphatic drainage or focus on specific concerns like jaw pain, headaches, or abdominal care, without feeling overwhelming. If you’re recovering from surgery, managing lymphedema or lipedema, or want a more complete full-body treatment, a 75–90 minute session may be recommended. Extended 120-minute sessions are ideal for those needing the most comprehensive care. Not sure what’s best? I’ll help guide you based on your goals and health needs.
The timing depends on your type of surgery and your doctor’s recommendations. In many cases, lymphatic drainage can begin within a few days to two weeks after surgery to help reduce swelling, bruising, and discomfort. For some procedures, your surgeon may want you to wait longer or provide specific clearance. To ensure your safety, I may request approval from your physician before beginning post-surgical care. Starting at the right time allows you to get the best healing benefits from your sessions.
It’s always best to consult with your doctor and be cleared for lymphatic drainage before scheduling post-operative sessions. Many clients begin with 2–3 sessions per week in the early stages of healing, then gradually taper down to once a week or every other week as swelling and discomfort improve. The exact frequency depends on your procedure, your doctor’s recommendations, and what works best for you financially and physically. Most clients continue lymphatic drainage throughout their recovery, with the greatest number of sessions scheduled in the first few weeks after surgery.
For Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), it is recommended that clients fully undress so that clothing and elastic bands do not restrict lymph flow to the lymph nodes. You will always be properly draped with sheets or blankets, and only the area being worked on will be exposed. For other treatments, such as reflexology or some abdominal work, partial clothing may be appropriate. Your comfort and privacy are always the priority, and we’ll discuss what feels right for you before beginning the session.
